Orthodontic Assistant Training Course, is a program of further education which goal is to make the participant acquire basic knowledge and dexterities in an effective form as Dental Assistant of the Orthodoncist under its direct supervision.
Perform this course brings benefits to the participant in 2 aspects; strengthen the summary and professional preparation what in turn helps to obtain a better employment and a better salary. In second place, the participant acquires the necessary knowledge to apply for the Board of Dental Assistants in orthodontics and be certified as such.
EFDA (expanded functions dental assistant)
COA (Certified Orthodontic Assistant)
The participants will improve their Knowledge and techniques in relation to the following program:
Etiology and classification of malocclusion
Clinic History in Orthodontics
Type of radiographs used in Orthodontics (video capture and video cephalic demonstration)
Sterilization in Orthodontics
Education of the Orthodontics patient
General Orthodontics instrumental (Characteristics of brackets, molar tubes, bands, instrumental, materials, organization, maintenance, sterilization and disinfection)
Positioning of the spacers, bands, brackets, molar tubes, archwires, ligatures (elastic and metallic) and power chains.
Type of orthodontics procedures
Recommendations to obtain the certification DANB or COA
To whom is the course directed?
The course could be performed by Dentists, Assistants or Dental Hygienist who wish to improve their professional preparation. They could be residents of the USA or International participants.
